The wine has a soft, pulpy texture and a hazy appearance. It drinks incredibly easily - tart lemons and something fresh and saline to cut the palate. There are those peachy tones we’d expect from Garganega and a splash of golden, nutty Trebbiano too. A quenching wine with zero additions at such an accessible price.
La Biancara is a biodynamic estate planted over volcanic Venetian soils in Gambellara, by the foothills of Soave. Angiolino Maule has been pioneering this way of farming since the late 90s, and the full 9 hectares of the estate are worked according to these principles. Whilst some wine is made under the Soave DOC, this particular cuvée is made using the second selection of grapes from one of the top vineyard sites, and goes under the more general Veneto IGT descriptor. It’s an all together more laid back affair, and a great way to taste some high quality fruit at under £20
