About the Wine

The maceration technique really brings out the lime citrus and kerosine aromas that most Riesling-heads seek out with glee, and here they are really dialled up. On the palate there are richer, honeyed notes and a bit of edge given from some balanced volatility in the acids. Two weeks on the skins with a very soft extraction followed by maturation in big old foudre for one year. A wonderful way with this grape.

Jean-Marc Dreyer
'Origin' Gewürztraminer Macération 2021

Here the maceration technique really brings out the sultry, tropical notes of the Gewürztraminer; the aromas are humid and exotic, perhaps akin to stumbling around a botanical garden after a couple of drinks. A highly distinctive grape handled with much the same singularity. Find out more.

Finisterra Macération 2019

The varied skin colours of the blend of grapes here give this orange wine a sultry blush tint. Something tea-like comes to mind with the soft, grippy mouthfeel and the sapid, aromatic fruits make for a wine that is as atypical as it is intriguing. Dreyer never fails. Find out more.

Pinot Noir Elios 2021

The warm ripening season of 2021 has imprinted some bold, generous fruit to a wine that can, on occasion, be more angular and austere. There is that restrained suggestion of bonfire smoke permeating the lifted, violet high notes. Dreyer rarely puts a foot wrong. Find out more.
