Elegant and refined Chenin Blanc from a 45-year-old parcel planted over schist in Saint Aubin de Luigné, pressed directly to cuve for a year of élevage. This warmer vintage has rendered a plush, perfumed wine that pairs ripe stone fruits, smoke and anise to beautiful effect. On the palate there is tension and minerality sitting in perfect balance with ripe fruits. Wonderfully refined with subtle nuance and detail.
Adrien has a very considered approaching to farming, ploughing by horse and using local wild plants to prepare teas to be used in the vineyards. In the cellar, Adrien uses the lightest of touch, with gentle extractions that reveal just enough detail and nuance from the grapes without over extraction. The care and attention to detail here results in wines of incredible clarity and purity of fruit, harnessing the character that schist brings.
