Beautifully perfumed Burgundian Pinot Noir from up-and-coming vigneron Pierre Mang. Pretty and perfumed with strawberries and sour cherries sitting above a delicate layer of earth and spice wrapped up with a lick of acidity and chalky tannins. Fluid, delicate and almost weightless on the palate, this wine is drinking beautifully now is sure to go the distance – one to lay down if you can.
Made with 100% Pinot Noir from vines planted over steep slopes of clay and limestone in the village of Plottes. The grapes were fermented as whole bunches for a fortnight, before being pressed off to old barrels for eighteen months of elévage.
This is early days for Pierre Mang, in just a few short years Pierre he has announced himself as one of the most thoughtful and original of a new generation of vignerons in Burgundy. With a bright future ahead, we look forward tasting these wines for years to come. As usual for growers in this region, production is small with limited amounts to go around.
