DUE TO THE SCARCITY OF THIS WINE WE ARE LIMITING SALES TO ONE BOTTLE PER CUSTOMER
Age worthy Burgundian Chardonnay from up-and-coming vigneron Pierre Mang. Pouring a pale straw yellow in the glass, on the nose the wine is heady with smoke, citrus and stones. Brimming with energy and a precise minerality thanks to the cool, west-facing parcel. Drinking very well already, this bottle will easily go the distance – one lay down if you can.
Made with 100% Chardonnay from young vines planted in a cool, west-facing parcel over clay, limestone and marl in the village of Plottes near the Saône river. The grapes were pressed directly into barrels for two years of elévage. Despite the warm conditions of 2022, the wine retains a wonderful freshness and uncommon purity.
This is early days for Pierre Mang, in just a few short years Pierre he has announced himself as one of the most thoughtful and original of a new generation of vignerons in Burgundy. With a bright future ahead, we look forward tasting these wines for years to come. As usual for growers in this region, production is small with limited amounts to go around.
