About the Wine

Dinavolino is one of those typically Emilia-Romagna wines, intensely aromatic and textured from the white grapes undergoing a lengthy skin maceration, with plenty of mouth-watering acidity. If you’re looking for the heady, floral notes and tea-like tannins of a La Stoppa wine like the sublime Ageno, but are perhaps looking for something a little more modestly-priced, then this is the one.

The blend of grapes together pack a big aromatic punch, but it is the Malvasia that comes through the most, the Candia Aromatica strain giving those very generous notes of orange blossom, grapefruit zest & lime cordial, whilst the Marsanne - more commonly associated with the south of France - provides a rounded, fleshy body and satiating apricot and tea-like notes.

Despite temperatures in this area getting quite high, the site that the grapes for Dinavolino come from is a lofty 1500m above sea level, meaning the grapes can be harvested fairly late and at full maturity, whilst keeping the finished wine low in alcohol, this year even below 11%. So there is drinkablity, but in no way at the expense of complexity. Sensational orange wine without breaking the bank.
