About the wine
A wine dear to our hearts from Château Baby Girl, made by our friend Fernando Berry who is now making natural wine himself. Along his travels he's been able to take on the role of the nomadic vigneron, getting his hands on some grapes here, making the wine there... all of his recent exploits in a bottle.
Hot Girl Summer is a field blend of 12 different varietals (or thereabouts) from Catalan producer Clot de les Soleres. The red and white grapes are hand-harvested and lightly foot-pressed before infusion with direct press juice of Chardonnay and Macabeu. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and the wine is then aged in tank for ultimate freshness.
A natural wine which dances the line between rosé, light red, orange – call it what you like, it is truly electric juice that just bursts with berries, tart rhubarb, pink grapefruit, and those classic Catalan wild herbs. A delightfully wild treat arriving with us just in time for the sun to start shining again – Bravo Fernando!
