A thirst-quenching blanc de noir of Cabernet Franc. That's right, white wine from red grapes! Invitingly hazy in the glass, with just the slightest peachy hue, this is one that is hard not to glug when the sun is shining down. Find out more.
Piak! is the thirst-quenching range from the cellars of Calvez-Bobinet. Blending together three of the key Loire grapes, and harvesting a little of each of their character, this is a dry, fruity rosé with lots going on. Flesh and texture from the Chenin, herbal cherry fruit from the Cab Franc and a lovely bit of fragrant spice from the d'Aunis. Fruitier and slightly wilder than the last vintage but still dry and very refreshing. Very tasty stuff!
Sebastien and Émeline have vines planted around Saumur on the banks of the Loire. Their cellar in Beaulieu is a cave that is dug about 500m deep into the soft limestone cliffs. Inside the temperature is a stable 12 degrees all year round – perfect for making wine with minimal chemical intervention. The soil in their vineyards is the same limestone but of varying ages and densities. When he inherited his tiny surface of vines in 2003 Seb wanted to work the land and make his wines with the utmost respect for nature and his juice. Over time their vineyard surface has expanded to around 4 hectares but they continue to work with the same philosophy and dedication making Cabernet Francs of great purity.
