Pouring a deep straw-yellow in the glass, tropical fruit notes immediately jump out alongside wild flowers, Mediterranean herbs and a good salty-citrus tang. Find out more.
This orange wine is made from the rare variety Catarratto Extra Lucido, a mutation with soft skins and a more delicate profile than its relative Catarratto. Coming from the Valdibella cooperative in Camporeale, Western Sicily, the grapes undergo 2 weeks of skin contact and 6 months in steel tanks. It's a proper orange wine - bold with colour, structure, and an incredible aromatic profile of ginger and apricots. The 2023 iteration of the wine is showing a touch more herbaciousness than previous vintages, with a distinctive fennel/aniseed note that feels unmistakably Sicilian. Saline, grippy and spicy.
