About the Wine

Cornelissen makes many different red wines but only two white and this is one of them. There is a brief 4-day skin maceration giving the wine some density and delicate tannins whilst also bringing out some stony aromatics in its smoky, mineral nose. The free draining, mineral rich soils adds a crackle of electricity to the acidity of the wine which cuts through the fruit with real tension. The texture is rich and oily and the wine has notes of salinity, straw, wild herbs, ginger and ripe yellow fruits. Drinking well now, but like most Cornelissen wines, patience is rewarded when the wine's true depth is revealed.

About Frank Cornelissen

There's no denying the hype around Frank but it's certainly justified. Anyone making wine in such an uncompromising style is bound to make waves, especially when it's on the side of an active volcano.
