One to look out for for fans of the wines of Cantina Giardino, this is a neighbouring classic of skin-macerated Fiano from Irpinia, in the rolling hills of Campania. And for those who are new to the style, this is one of those timeless, well-regarded wines that demonstrates that orange wine is far from a new trend, and has in fact been the style of production for decades in these regional heartlands. It is the terminology itself that is new - the producers still refer to these wines as vino bianco.
The wine is completed in steel tank, keeping things focussed and precise. Fiano on the skins brings lovely savoury notes of almond and a balanced bitterness in the finish. Waxy citrus peel, floral notes and an array of dry spices all jostle together to create a truly engaging wine full of complexity. An old-school favourite.
