About the Wine
A deliciously ripe and immediately satisfying Riesling filled with green apple, peach, passionfruit and zesty lime. Richness and complexity is met with minerality and youthful vigour in this well balanced Riesling from two different prized plots.
The 2023 vintage was very wet and warm, and much of the harvest was lost to the suzuki fly. In this wine, two vineyard sites come together: On one site the grapes grow on yellow sand and have a more fruit-driven character and the other is red sandstone leading to very straight, focussed and mineral wines. On both sites the grapes were picked at full-ripeness, the resulting wine balances richness and depth with a fresh focus and profound streak of minerality.
Another brilliant slice of contemporary Germany, where 'landwein' is not a dirty word.
