About the Wine

In keeping with the off-the-beaten-track nature of the wines we list, it gives us great pleasure to offer the only example like this we've come across - skin-contact, or 'orange' Argentinian Torrontes! A very long maceration of ten months transforms and intensifies the more typically, soft, floral notes of this wine transform into something more sappy and intense. Apricot and quince stone fruits abound and the heady blossom aromas could be comparable to the Italian macerated Moscato or Malvasia wines we love so much, here with a New World twist. A bold, and very succesful, gesture - brilliant orange wine!

About PolOpuesto

Pol Opuesto is one Pol Andsnes, a philosophy grad, who trained to make wine in many different countries before settling down in Argentina. The name of the project denotes his contrary approach, i.e. not working with Malbec, loving the indigenous (often unloved) grape varieties, valuing the vineyard and making wines with minimal extraction or intervention.

Qué Grande Sos! 2018

A little pocket rocket of a wine, very much in the glouglou style. Perhaps people aren't ready to look to Argentina for this sort of wine yet? Think again! Herby, juicy and aromatic, with that bouncing ball structure. Find out more.
