About the Wine
One-of-a-kind Gewürztraminer from the gentle giant of Rosheim, equally known for his amiable nature as he is for his method of fermenting his wine in skips. Don’t let that fool you into thinking his wines are anything other than beautifully constructed, harmonious, balanced, and an absolute pleasure to drink.
Here the maceration technique really brings out the musky, tropical notes of the Gewürztraminer; the aromas are humid and exotic, perhaps akin to stumbling around a botanical garden after a couple of drinks. The wine is fermented dry, and a neat line of salty acidity that keeps the floral aspect in check. Zero flab. And there is a gentle bitterness to finish, that tails away gently rather than dominating.
Quite honestly one of the finest expressions of the grape we have tried. Don‘t be afraid to show it some spice when you put it on the table.
