An obscure blend of indigenous Andalusian varieties; Montúa, Vigiriego & Pedro Ximénez, coming from a single parcel planted at almost 1000m above sea level. An intense and totally unique white with a peachy, honeyed fruit richness sitting beneath a smoky, nutty opulence and a strong mineral backbone.
The co-planted grapes are harvested on the same day, direct-pressed then aged in old French oak for 10 months. The resulting natural wine balances wonderfully between rich, ripe intensity and lean freshness. Wrapped up with a spicy, smoky finish.
Samuel is passionate about using indigenous grape varieties, some of which are so rarely seen these days that they are at risk of completely disappearing. Samuel works on a number of tiny plots of land at various elevations and embraces each individual terroir and does not mix musts from different vineyards, believing strongly that each individual plot possesses its own unique identity. The wines are often labelled using numbers which correspond to the altitude of the plots.
