ABRACADABRA, the négoce project of Hannah Fuellenkemper. The project is a real labour of love, we highly recommend following Hannah's blog which offers a refreshingly candid perspective on the highs and lows of making wine.
Alakazam is a direct-press Chardonnay made with from Ardèchois grower Thierry Doulmet in Alba la Romaine. The wine is aged for 2 years in old barrels from Andrea Calek, and not topped up. Beautifully rich yet dangerously drinkable.
Rich and complex with honeyed stone fruits and white flower aromatics. On the palate the wine is well balanced with a flinty minerality and a good lift of acidity. Named ‘Alakazam’ to reflect the magical transformation that takes place over the 2 years ageing in barrel.
