Natural Red Wine Price|£20-£30, Style|Ageworthy | Wayward Wines

Price – £20-£30

Here at Wayward our large selection of natural red wine covers a broad dynamic range; from the most weightless, translucent expressions of the Jura, or juicy, perfumed Gamay from Beaujolais, through to more structured, robust examples from warmer, more Mediterranean climes, you’ll find them all listed here.

Reds to keep you warm in the winter and, yes, reds that you can throw into the ice bucket. From healthy, unique vineyard parcels managed with organic and biodynamic farming, the natural wine approach can yield wildly varying results in the cellar; we deal in classical appellation all the way through to the wild, raw outer limits.

Elisa Guerin
'La Vigne de Mon Pere' Moulin-à-Vent 2022

Mikaël Bouges
Les Couilles d'Anes 2021

A serious wine with a silly name - Couilles d'Anes translates as 'donkey balls', a colloquial term coined by the local vigneron to describe the unusual black stones that can be found dotting the vineyard soils in certain locations. A delightfully aromatic vintage, bright cherry and bramble fruits meld with a violet perfume in the glass. Find out more.

Vins d'en Tom

Here the alluvial soils are more rocky and some of the vines were planted as far back as the late 30s, at the end of the Spanish civil war. Bristling with spice, it is a dark, sappy wine with a robust structure and some charming Catalan rusticity. Find out more.
