Pink + Red Chillers! Price|£30-£40 | Wayward Wines

Price – £30-£40

With the sun beaming down and Summer finally feeling like it’s in full swing, we thought it was time to shout about some of our favourite kinds of wine to drink in the sun:
Pink and red chillers!
People often ask us about the lesser-known ‘red-chiller’ category, unsure of which wines best suit some time on ice. So, we thought we’d line up some of our favourites to take the guesswork out for you.
From the light, mineral driven rosé’s we know and love, to wild rosados with a little more flesh on their bones, we’ve got deep pet-nat rosé, juicy light reds and category defying field blends.
Thirst-quenching bottles best enjoyed straight from the ice bucket, drunk perfectly chilled.
That’s your picnic-wine sorted!

La Tangente 'Metisse' 2023

The darker juice from the Syrah pulling more towards a rosé in appearance, but with a peachy sunset tint from the macerated Viognier, it remains a hard wine to categorise, but also begs the question, what does that matter? Worked in this way the Syrah gives some gummy red fruits to frame the herbal, anise character of the Viognier, which is extracted to leave a wonderfully fine-grained, delicate tannic profile. Find out more.

  • Region Étables, Ardèche, France
  • Grapes Syrah & Viognier
  • Vineyard Organic
  • Cellar Fermented with native yeasts, unfiltered & unfined, no additional sulphites

Mira 2020

No, we didn't think we'd one day be listing wine from Belgium either! The thing that drew us to this fascinating project was the radical approach; natural wine almost reverse-engineered in the concept of planting grape varietals that suited the place they were grown, sidestepping chemical farming methods in the process. Fittingly, the wines are like nothing you will have tried before. One for the curious! Find out more.
