New from Mikaël Bouges

In the wake of the very first of the 2023 vintage arriving a couple of months ago, more new wines are starting to arrive from Mikaël's cellar in Faverolles-sur-Cher, Touraine.

Mikaël has described 2023 as the best vintage in this part of the Loire in some time - welcome news following the horror stories suffered in recent years, 2024 sadly proving equally problematic with recent frosts. Yields were healthy and fermentations have taken place swiftly and without complication. A lot more wine was able to be made than in the preceding vintages, which gives growers like Mikaël cause to breathe a sigh of relief.

His young-vine Sauvignon Blanc cuvée 'French Clara' returns - the first to be released and most easy-going of the whites that will follow. A new addition is a one-off rosé, 'La Roseur', a simple, mineral wine that hits a very appealing sweet-spot, and then we have the second disgorgement of another batch of the wonderful white pet nat 'Clic Clac' - briefly out of stock but now very much back.
