About the wine
A new addition to the Glow Glow lineup! Fresh and bright, expect notes of under ripe peach and pear alongside honey and lemon. A profound streak of minerality ties the wine together with the lightest of spritz on opening. A unique Chardonnay that shows the light, thirst-quenching side of this well-known grape.
The 2024 growing season was a tricky one for the Baumbergers, who unfortunately lost a large chunk of their Chardonnay due to frost. Always the optimists, the duo put their energy into the remaining grapes and made the best of a difficult situation. Luckily, the remaining fruit developed beautifully, with ripeness and acidity sitting in perfect harmony. In the words of the Baumbergers ‘2024 was a year of most beautiful grapes, just very few of them.’
Made from grapes grown on south-facing steep slope on yellow sand with a bit of clay. The grapes are direct-pressed, then moved to a mix of small tonneaux and a large 1200L barrel to ferment and age.
Another brilliant slice of contemporary Germany, where 'landwein' is not a dirty word.
