100% Grolleau that at a featherweight 9 degrees of alcohol falls very much into that that 'vin de soif' category we so love here at Wayward. Find out more.
Au Bon Secours is a lean, mineral-driven natural Loire Gamay that very much sits in vin de soif territory. More spiced than fruity, with a distinct stony, blood-like minerality sitting above pure red fruits. Try it chilled.
From a plot of Gamay planted around 1959 on schiste. The grapes are macerated in whole bunches for about 2 weeks and then aged on the lees. Babass is often complimented on his meticulous attention to detail when it comes to his vineyard soils. This in turn is credited to the poise and delicacy to be found in the finished wine.
Babass is something of a legend in the natural wine world. He was formerly part of Domaine des Griottes and has now decided to go it alone with his 2.4 hectares of Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and Chenin Blanc. His wines sum up natural wine for a lot of people - wild but pure and compellingly drinkable. We're very excited to have received a small allocation of these sought-after wines.
