Grape – Clairette

With the sun beaming down and Summer finally feeling like it’s in full swing, we thought it was time to shout about some of our favourite kinds of wine to drink in the sun:
Pink and red chillers!
People often ask us about the lesser-known ‘red-chiller’ category, unsure of which wines best suit some time on ice. So, we thought we’d line up some of our favourites to take the guesswork out for you.
From the light, mineral driven rosé’s we know and love, to wild rosados with a little more flesh on their bones, we’ve got deep pet-nat rosé, juicy light reds and category defying field blends.
Thirst-quenching bottles best enjoyed straight from the ice bucket, drunk perfectly chilled.
That’s your picnic-wine sorted!

La Grange Du Nord
Ornière 2022

A fabulously floaty infusion-style wine, showing the diminished tannic structure, pure fruit character and openness of aroma that can be achieved with this restrained method. Fragrant with fresh strawberries and dusty anise, the body of the wine is rounded and gravity-defying, the lightly confected red fruits and spices taking on a pillowy, compote-like quality with a dust of herby liquorice. Fred's entry-point cuvée, blending a roughly even split of almost every grape grown in the domaine, red and white, brought together in a direct-press.
