The picturesque region of Alsace tucked into the north-eastern corner of France along the German border, protected by the Vosges Mountains. A long thin region, it is characterised by its vast array of soil types and diverse range of grape varieties. Limestone, schist, granite, gneiss, sandstone, the list goes on!
