Rare Bottles

Price – £30-£40

Small scale producers with low yields and those sought after bottles with a cult following make some wines hard to come by. Here you'll find those that we've manged to bag tiny allocations of.

Elisa Guerin
'Les Thorins' Moulin-à-Vent 2022

The darker, more brooding and structured side of Elisa's two Moulin-à-Vent cuvées; this is the only of her wines that sees any time in barrel. Robust and ageworthy, with an iron-rich mineral streak imparted by the gorrha soils that define this single 1.5-hectare plot. Find out more.

Marzagana Elementales
Higa 2022

Higa is all salt on the Atlantic sea breeze and scorched charcoal minerality, making for a more savoury, saline expression. The delicate tannins stand like a sort of intricate, skeletal framework around the wine, where earthy elements meld with secondary notes from the time in barrel, the fruit feeling less to the fore. Mai & Kenji Hodgson
Les Aussigouins 2021

As a broad stroke one could describe Les Aussigouins as a more amped-up sister to Faia - the production is the same, it is the qualities in the raw materials that make it unique. The fruit is opluent and richly textured, with beautiful, long acidity that points to this being a wine built to go the distance. Find out more.

Fabio Ferracane
Muffato Oxidative 2018

A callback to the old school Marsala of days gone by and a remarkable, completely natural phenomenon. Bone dry, the wine is a heady mix of all the complex flavours and textures that oxidation and flor-contact can bring. Fruits give way to woody hazelnut, toasted almond, turmeric and garam masala spice with crystals of salt, plus a little sweet vanilla from the barrel. Find out more.

  • Grapes Catarratto
  • Vineyard Organic
  • Cellar Fermented with native yeasts, unfiltered & unfined, no additional sulphites
