Pin-prick bubbled natural pet-nat of Moscatel d'Alexandria from Albert’s Clot del Tuets plot. The aromatics here are wonderfully balanced with flowers, citrus and salt sitting side by side in harmony, there is a clear lightness of touch present here that keeps the aromatics in check. In the wrong hands Moscatel can become overly perfumed, but certainly not here! Precise, delicate and thoroughly thirst-quenching, this is the perfect picnic companion.
Here the grapes are destemmed and macerated for about a day on the skins, lending the wine that extra bit of thirst-quenching texture. They begin fermentation in stainless steel, and then bottled to complete fermentation, trapping the bubbles and creating a sparkler - à la Ancestral style!
Albert Domingo Navarro runs his family’s farm in the hills above Tarragona, between Penedès and the Conca de Barberà. The vineyards are planted with Parellada, Macabeo, Garnatxa Blanca, Chenin Blanc, Moscatell d'Alexandria, Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) and Syrah on limestone soils surrounded by woodland, which act as protection and a source of biodiversity for the farm. His vines are organic and he is committed to making wine in as natural a way as possible.
