Marsanne from St Réméze in the southern Ardèche, made using whole bunches in carbonic maceration. This technique really draws out the broad, textural potential of the varietal - tannins have a delicate, dialled-back grippiness that neatly frames ripe southern flavours of hay, honey, saline stone fruit and a burst of pineapple. 2021 sees a different blend for this ever-popular wine after Meryl & Géraldine lost half of their Viognier harvest to hail. As always, the wine shows concentrated, oily citrus and fleshy yellow stone fruits.
