About the Wine

Aromatic, juicy rosé of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Johanniter & Pinot Gris. Pouring an inviting dark pink in the glass, the wine immediately impressed with lots of juicy fresh fruit sitting alongside a subtle herbaceous edge. Both delicate and thirst-quenching, this is one to throw in an ice-bucket and knock back with abandon.

The hand-harvest grapes macerate whole-bunch for 10 days before pressing into a combination of concrete egg and stainless steel- for that whistle clean, fruit forward finish. Clocking in at just 9.5%, a bottle of this won't last long.

It’s still early days for this exciting new UK based project, we look forward to see what happens next.

About Cowboys Don't Have Curls

It’s been an exciting few years on the UK natural wine scene, and it’s great to see another project come together. Cowboys Don’t Have Curls is the project of Welsh winemaker Dave Morris (Mountain People Wines) and Somerset grower George Price (Mayland Vineyard). The duo are creating impressively detailed wines using fruit from our very own shores.

The grapes for the Cowboys project all comes from George’s tiny family-run fruit farm in Somerset, which has just 1.2 hectares of vines (no-till farming without herbicides or pesticides), then Dave makes the wine. Dave’s winemaking is typically straightforward, whites direct pressed whole bunch, reds given whole bunch maceration.

They are another shining example of the proactive, sustainable winemaking in the UK, it’s a joy to see! We look forward to seeing what happens next.
