The clue is in the name with this one, Limonada is all about freshness and zip. This is the first wine Joachim has made with Xarel-lo grapes, from his vines which were planted in 2020. A drought-resistant white grape variety which is native to Catalonia, Xarel-lo has been planted in recent years in the Roussillon as a grape that is able to withstand the unforgiving heat and minimal rainfall in the region. There is a touch of maceration here which gives the wine a little structure, but at the heart of it, Limonada is all about freshness, citrus and zing. Despite the intense growing conditions, Joachim’s wines retain an exciting freshness and vibrancy that is really transportive, the wines are well-balanced, saline and full of character.
