About the Wine

An iconic, finely sculpted natural wine from one of the most important names in Beaujolais. Delicately extracted with beautifully pure old vine-y fruit, enhanced by ten months ageing in casks from Prieuré-Roch in Burgundy.

Pouring a mid-raspberry colour, the fruit has a lifted, violet perfume to it and the wine cuts the palate with precision. A beautiful, age worthy bottle that delivers brightness and opulence in equal measures. This is a total classic from an inspirational domaine.

About Lapierre

Alongside Guy Breton, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Jean Foillard, Marcel Lapierre was one of the iconic 'Gang of Four' - a group of vignerons who, inspired by Jules Chauvet, called for a return to the old practices of viticulture and vinification: starting with old vines, never using synthetic herbicides or pesticides, harvesting late, rigorously sorting to remove all but the healthiest grapes, adding minimal doses of sulfur dioxide or none at all, and disdaining chaptalization. Marcel was one of the very first advocates of natural wine. Although now sadly no longer with us, his son Mathieu and daughter Camille confidently continue the great work that their father pioneered, now introducing biodynamic vineyard practices and ensuring that Marcel's legacy lives on
