About the wine

An electric red/white blend from Lucie and Jules of Ham Street Wines in Kent. Nimble and detailed with pure, juicy red fruits, violets and herbs sitting against a subtle smokiness. A wine which lands in that special intersection between light red and dark rosé, its best served chilled (preferably on a sunny day!).

A co-fermentation of 80% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay, the whole bunches macerate for 25 days before going through the basket press into stainless steel and aging for 8 months. The resulting wine is lifted and plush with opulent aromatics and the finest frame of structure.

This husband and wife team are passionate about working in harmony with the environment, with biodiversity being at the heart of all the work that they do. The labels on their wines celebrate this by featuring different plants and flowers that grow amongst the vines. Here with have the delicate, nimble Daisy.

About Ham Street Wines

Ham Street Wines is the project of young husband and wife team Lucie & Jules, who planted four hectares of vines four years ago on the edge of the Romney Marsh. They are one of only a tiny minority of UK based growers who are choosing to work in harmony with the environment, eschewing the use of synthetic chemicals, herbicides, pesticides and using as minimal intervention as possible in the cellar.

The duo goes above and beyond to promote soil health and biodiversity by using holistic farming techniques and working to the principles of regenerative agriculture. They use plant teas and micro-nutrients to build and encourage life within the vineyard. They believe that doing as little as possible to disturb the natural balance is the key to healthy fruit. This respectful ethos extends to work the cellar, which is both experimental, delicate and considered. Sulphur use is kept to an absolute minimum, movements are conducted by gravity and in accordance with the biodynamic calendar, and wines are never fined or filtered.

Lucie & Jules released their first vintage in 2022, and in 2024 became certified biodynamic – one of just a handful of certified sites in the whole of the UK. They are a shining example of what is possible through sustainable, thoughtful winemaking in the UK.
