About the Wine

A dark, brooding Spanish natural red wine made with the lesser-known Tintilla, a grape native to the province of Cádiz. Expect ripe, brambly fruit with juicy red cherries and kirsch sitting against a background of Mediterranean herbs. Full and structured but not lacking balance with a welcome line of acidity keeping everything in check, a rare feat amongst wines grown in the scorching heat of Southern Spain.

The vineyards here are part of a large 500ha estate in the San Jose del Valle, inland, 35km south east of Jerez, in beautiful countryside close to the Sierra de Cadiz. The estate is made up of old olive trees, vineyards (17ha), pasture (where Iberico pigs roam free) and other crops.

The grapes here are grown on pure albariza soils and are hand harvested. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, preserving all those lovely juicy fruit flavours. For those who look for a more robust, fuller-bodied red wine for those cooler months - this one is for you.
