About the wine
The very first still wine released by Laura & Mark of Black Mountain in Herefordshire! A wine that Mark had been waiting for the just right time to make- and thanks to a glorious, consistently warm growing season in 2022, it came to fruition!
Incredibly light on its feet, this field blend is bright and fruit forward with cherry, raspberry and cranberry sitting atop notes of nuts and spice. Detailed, balanced and pure with that signature streak of acidity we have come to expect from Laura and Mark. One to chill down.
Made with a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunièr, Solaris and Cabernet Cortis, the grapes were all picked on the same day in October 2022 when the duo felt the balance was just right and the four grape varieties were sitting in harmony. The grapes were crushed together and macerated on the skins for 5 days before being slowly pressed into barrel for 2 and a half years rest. A wine which truly captures the energy of this beautiful vineyard and growing season.
