Grape – Ugni Blanc

Joseph Jefferies
La Pierre de Sisyphe 2021

Another great vintage for a remarkable Southern French white; fresh and saline with beautiful stone fruit, minerals and a fleshy texture. This year the Terret & Ugni Blanc was all direct-pressed and aged in fiberglass tanks. The basalt soils here are key - they impart a tension and purity which makes this such a memorable wine. La Vrille et le Papillon
Q Blanc 2021

La Vrille's entry white, made from younger vines of Ugni Blanc, that lesser-sung French sibling of Trebbiano. Much the same as that Italian grape, it offers yellow fruits with something a little saline and mineral. There is also a lovely oily citrus quality and the softness of ripe pears that ensures a bottle of this wine doesn't hang around for long. Find out more.
