About the Wine

A rare gem from Rié and Hirofumi Shoji, a young couple working deep in the South of France, high in the hills above the seaside town of Collioure some 350m meters above sea level - these are some of the highest sights in the region.

Made with Grenache from vines up to 50 years old planted over granite and schist, Pedres Blanques, or ‘white rocks’ in Catalan, takes its name from an outcrop of granite that sits amongst the couples 3.5 hectares of remote vines. Elevation along with stiff winds from the Mediterranean lends a balanced freshness to the wine, where drinkability and depth sit together in harmony. The grapes were harvested over two passages, fermented as whole bunches for around a month, before being pressed to old barrels of various sizes for a year of elévage. Deep in colour with gorgeous perfume, dark fruit, minerals and brine. One to lay down, this is a bottle that that is sure to reward drinkers for years to come.

Our annual allocation of Pedres Blanques is tiny, therefore this wine is limited to one bottle per customer.
