About the Wine

100% signature Chenin Blanc with delicious fleshiness and mouth-coating depth. As with other 2018 wines from this area, they are transmitting the heat of a very hot ripening season. Thankfully, they can take it - amongst the complex layers of fruit and spices on show, the hallmark stony minerality is at its core, and the wire of acid is still ever-present. The smallest quantity of residual sugar lends succulence and there is a gentle, softly-perceived petillance upon opening. Rich, robust Chenin from one of the star producers of the region.

About Les Vignes de Babass

Babass is something of a legend in the natural wine world. He was formerly part of Domaine des Griottes and has now decided to go it alone with his 2.4 hectares of Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and Chenin Blanc. His wines sum up natural wine for a lot of people - wild but pure and compellingly drinkable. We're very excited to have received a small allocation of these sought-after wines.

Les Vignes de Babass
Groll n’ Roll 2022

100% Grolleau that at a featherweight 10 degrees of alcohol falls very much into that that 'vin de soif' category we so love here at Wayward. Lots of the earthy black fruit we associate with this lesser-sung grape and the oh so delicate 2022 vintage boasts a soaring violet perfume. Serve chilled for the best results. Find out more.
