Sparkling Wine

The beauty of sparkling wine is that once it goes into the bottle, that is just the beginning. A still wine is transformed through the alchemy of fermentation in bottle to become anything from a Cremant to a Pet-Nat, a Champagne, Prosecco or Cava, traditional method or ancestral method, disgorged or not, brut nature to demi-sec... the number of different styles and methods is great. We’ve got refined grower Champagne from the likes of Vouette et Sorbée through to the rustic frizzante wines of Costadilà and Orsi San Vito. The presence of co2 in these bottles often means it is much easier for the producer to add no sulphur to the wine too. Organic, biodynamic and natural wine in its many sparkling guises.

  • Vin de LaGamba Mehr Frauen? Ja Bitte 2019 | Wayward Wines

Vin de LaGamba Mehr Frauen? Ja Bitte 2019

Another explosive, dangerously drinkable, lighly sparkling red from Alanna Lagamba. With Frauen Power the intention was to create a 'German Lambrusco', here the spritzy outcome is somewhat different - still low in finished alcohol, immediate in its fruit...

  • Vin de LaGamba Frauen Power 2020 | Wayward Wines

Vin de LaGamba Frauen Power 2020

Here Alanna Lagamba set out to make what she described herself as a 'German Lambrusco' - surely the first of its kind?! The soda bottle appearance certainly sets the right tone; this is brisk, refreshing, lightly sparkling and clocking in below 10...

Casa Coste Piane Valdobbiadene Prosecco NV

Prosecco - but this is the real deal! Made in the traditional method, the Glera grape sees a natural fermentation before being transferred to the bottle for a second fermentation that traps the bubbles. The bottle is not disgorged so the wine is left to...
