An ideal candidate for relaxed summer drinking, Alberese is a Tuscan rosato whereby red and white grapes are co-fermented together. In this case it's Sangiovese, a grape that has potential to be full-bodied and tannic, which is lifted by the addition of around 30% Trebbiano. The maceration is only a couple of days to keep things light and the vinification takes place in concrete and steel tanks to preserve freshness and imprint a fine texture on the finished wine. Juicy is definitely the word for this one; lovely bright fruits and fresh aromas. Superb value to boot.
The entire 16-hectare Fattoria di Sammontana estate is certified organic with biodynamic practises also being put to work.
