All of the wines we have listed from Daniel we have in very small quantities, so be quick. A word on the producer from his UK importer, Gergovie Wines:
For many years at our Fête du Vin in Chassignolles Daniel would come to taste and enjoy the party. He would always bring a bottle of wine he had made from the vineyard he had taken over in Ardèche and this he would quietly taste out to the winemakers in attendance and absorb the feedback. Now his wines are some of the most sought after and for good reason. Daniel has small amounts of Gamay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viognier. Most come from his vineyards in the hills of the northern Rhône and he buys some grapes from his friend Jean Delobre and from other growers further south. Daniel’s takes on these well-known varietals from a seemingly well-known area are extremely expressive.
Adam Contre le Beefsteack is 100% Pinot Noir and has a completely different feel to some of the other wines we have listed from him made with Gamay. The wine has a long maceration and everything is done in tank. Daniel's wines always brim with aromatic fruit and are something akin to crunching on a handful of freshly picked forest fruits once a sip has been taken. It's what makes them so difficult to stop drinking.
