The vineyard is situated on the slopes down to the river Cher, here with particularly deep, well-draining limestone gravel and just a small percentage of clay.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eImmediately, the aromatics are open and draw you in - white peach, lemongrass, something a little golden and honeyed. No-one can really explain their presence, but it is most likely an ancient alluvial spread from the historic path of the river Cher.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe grapes are destemmed, foot-crushed and then macerate for 10 days before being pressed off to old 500-litre barrels to rest for 18 months, with a further 6 months in tank,  before bottling. All vivid violet and dark bramble fruits in the glass, with a well-defined tannic structure.
