See also the 'La Pèlerine' and 'Les Cèdres' listings - all available in super-limited quantities! These are the wines that Jean-François makes with his sister, Anne, using grapes bought from outside their own domaine, but still falling within the Côtes du Jura appellation.

La Gravière is Chardonnay from 60 years old vines planted over grey marl that is spontaneously fermented whole bunch with no sulphur dioxide added during the vinification. The wine is aged in used demi-muids and then spends 30 months in smaller barriques. The wine is then bottled in the summer on the fine lees, two years after the harvest with a small amount of so2. The wine is made in the non-oxidative 'ouillé' style, meaning it retains its primary fruit characteristics over the sherried note associated with time under flor. Absolute class-act stuff from one of the Jura's biggest names.
