Lively, aromatic Grenache that’s so juicy and easy to drink it’s practically bouncing off the walls. An expression of the grape very different to anything we’ve tried before, the secret here being the hot days and cool nights the grapes see - perfect for bringing out that heady perfume. Once the grapes are in the cellar they are crushed and then simply left to infuse with the skins and stalks for around a month. Typically the wine would have this layer punched back down through the wine during this time, but here it is left as it is, which is why the extraction is so light and the juice such a pretty, translucent cherry red. Oh yes, it goes down rather easily too. There is a little residual sugar left in the wine, which with a light chill adds succulence to the palate. The thing we love the most about this wine is unexpected winter spices of cinnamon and clove that waft out of the glass and tingle on the finish, making it perfect for this time of year. As far as we know, these are the very last bottles of the 2016 left in circulation, so get them on your racks before we move on to the new vintage
